LinkFlick 1.11 adds two links that move your Magic Keyboard, Mouse and Trackpad between Macs: linkflick://move brings them to the Mac you're on, and linkflick://send sends them to your other Mac. Any app that can open a link can trigger a switch: a launcher, a Stream Deck key, a spare mouse button or a shell script.
You need LinkFlick running on both Macs, with the Macs linked. If you haven't set that up yet, it takes a couple of minutes. See how to set up LinkFlick on two Macs.
The two links
linkflick://move: bring your devices to this Mac. Same as the Move Devices Here shortcut (⌥⌘L by default).linkflick://send: send your devices to the next Mac. Same as the Send Devices to Next Mac shortcut (⌥⌘; by default).
Want to see it work before setting anything up? Open Terminal and run open linkflick://move. If LinkFlick isn't running, the link starts it first and then moves your devices.
Raycast
- Open Raycast and run Create Quicklink.
- Set Link to
linkflick://moveand name it, for example "Move devices here". - Make a second quicklink for
linkflick://send. - Optional: give each quicklink a hotkey or alias in Raycast's settings.
Stream Deck
- In the Stream Deck app, drag the Website action from the System category onto a key.
- Set the URL to
linkflick://move. - Leave Access in background unchecked. That option sends a web request instead of opening the link.
- Add a second key with
linkflick://send.
Alfred
With the Powerpack, create a workflow with a Keyword input connected to an Open URL action, and set the URL to linkflick://move. Make a second workflow for linkflick://send.
Keyboard Maestro
Add an Open a URL action with linkflick://move to a macro, then attach any trigger you like: a hotkey, a USB device being plugged in, a time of day, or waking from sleep.
A spare mouse button (BetterTouchTool)
- In BetterTouchTool, choose the Normal Mouse trigger type and record the button you want to use.
- Assign the Open URL action (under Utility Actions) with
linkflick://move.
BetterTouchTool can only use the left and right buttons together with a modifier key, so use a side button or add a modifier.
Scripts and Terminal
open linkflick://move and open linkflick://send work in any shell script, cron job or automation tool that can run a command.
Do you need a link at all?
If you just want a keyboard shortcut, LinkFlick already has two global shortcuts, and you can change both in Settings. You can also run both actions from the Shortcuts app or ask Siri. The links are for everything else: hardware buttons, launchers and scripts.
A note on safety: since any app or web page can open a link, the only two commands are move and send. A link can't change settings, linked Macs or your license, and browsers ask "Open LinkFlick?" before they open one.

Frequently asked questions
Can I switch my Magic Keyboard between Macs with a Stream Deck button?
Yes. With LinkFlick installed on both Macs, add a Website action to a Stream Deck key and set its URL to linkflick://move (bring your devices to this Mac) or linkflick://send (send them to your other Mac).
What do linkflick://move and linkflick://send do?
linkflick://move brings your Magic Keyboard, Mouse and Trackpad to the Mac you're on. linkflick://send sends them to your next linked Mac. They do exactly what LinkFlick's two keyboard shortcuts do, so any app that can open a link can trigger them.
Can a website use these links to change my LinkFlick settings?
No. The only two commands are move and send, so a link can only move your devices, which you'd see right away. Nothing can change settings, linked Macs or your license through a link, and browsers ask before they open a LinkFlick link.
